PANJIM: Sarvodaya HS, Curchorem defeated Holy Spirit Institute, Margao by 4 wickets to book their place in the quarter-finals of 17th Mukund Trikkanad memorial inter-school U-16 cricket tournament organized by Margao Cricket Club, at Dr Rajendra Prasad Stadium, Margao, on Tuesday.
Holy Spirit Institute batted first and scored 135 for 9 in allotted 20 overs with Kaushal Singh top scoring with 73 runs. In reply – Sarvodaya School achieved the target in the last over with 2 balls and 4 wickets to spare. Aniket Shah was the instrumental in Sarvodaya’s win scoring gallant unbeaten 65 runs.
In the second match, King’s HS, Sao Jose de Areal easily outwitted Al-Huda International High School of huge margin of 106 runs. Prasanna Vengurlekar did most of the damage of Al-Huda HS by taking 5 wickets in just 3 runs.
