BENAULIM: Sarzora SC downed Tilamol United SC 3-1 via the tie-breaker to move into the quarter-finals of the 7th Sebastian Union Club football tournament organised by St Sebastian Union Club, Vodlem bhat-Benaulim, at Sao Joao Baptist ground, Dando-Benaulim, on Wednesday.
It was Sarzora midfielder Nigel Fernandes who took control of the ball from Aston Fernandes in the second minute and dribbled past Pristo Goes and Melwin Carvalho of Tilamol United and fired from the top of Tilamol box but keeper Oswin Rodrigues palmed away the ball to safety.
In the 24th minute, Tilamola’s Pelly Menezes arrow boUnd shot hit the Sarzora side netting and went out of play.
In the tie-breaker, Sarzora SC netted through Chadel Fernandes, Jonathan Menezes and Franky Oliveira while for Tilamol United SC only Pristo Dias scored.
Sarzora SC will now meet SC Davorlim in the quarter-finals on July 29.
