NAGOA: Sarzora SC blanked SCC Loutolim 2-0 to move into the quarter-finals of the Nagoa Village Panchayat Cup football tournament organised by Rossman Cruz Sports Club, Nagoa, played at Village Panchayat ground, Nagoa, Verna on Friday.
Sarzora’s Alroy Moniz took control of the ball from Jess Fernandes who dribbled past Steve Gomes and Hanson Cardozo of Loutolim and shot from the top of the Loutolim box but Meiben Fernandes the keeper of Loutolim pushed away the ball to safety. Upcoming striker of Loutolim Sandip Konde sent in a long ball to Dickson Alves but the latter’s power-packed shot hit the rival post and went out of play in the 12th minute.
It was Merilo Fernandes of Sarzora who netted the first goal of the match with a curler off Stevan Fernandes’ connect in the 35th minute.
As the match was about to end with five minutes left for the final whistle Aston Fernandes doubled the lead for Sarzora with an arrow bond shot.
