MARGAO: Sporting Club Davorlim and Cristo Rei Youth Club, Betalbatim played out a goalless draw in GFA’s Third Division football league match, at Betalbatim ground, on Tuesday.
In the first half, SC Davorlim had the slight edge with superior pass accuracy as Valmiky Miranda dribbled past a host of rival defenders but was left frustrated to see his fierce effort hit the upright.
Cristo Rei Youth Club had a golden opportunity to break the deadlock in the 40th minute but striker Travis Barretto’s header missed the target narrowly off a cross by Melroy Cota.
Change of ends, the teams tried hard to score the match-winner but their strikers lacked accuracy.
In the Bardez zone match at Quitula ground, Youth Sports Club of Colvale huffed and puffed before scoring a narrow 3-2 win over Guirim YSCC.
Amar Kasar took Colvale into the lead in the 10th minute, scoring off a pass from Trevor.
Crossing over both the sides fired in two goals each through Trevor Paul and Jovian Conceicao for Colvale and Saish Palyekar and Chandan Govekar for Guirim.
At Candolim ground, Holiday Club, Arpora edged past Sangolda Lightning 1-0 margin.
The only goal of the match came in the eighth minute through Aniket Sawardekar.
Sangolda Lightning tried hard to bounce back but their strikers lacked finishing when it mattered.
