SC Davorlim sail into semis

MARGAO: Sporting Club of Davorlim defeated Betalbatim Sporting Club 2-1 to enter into the semi-finals of South Goa McDowell's No. 1 Yarri Premier Cup inter-village football tournament organized by Cuncolim Union at government school playground, Cuncolim, on Wednesday.

SC Davorlim did not wait for long to open the score line as they found the back of the net within 11 minutes when Paxton Gomes converted the spot kick to send the rival goalkeeper in wrong way after rival defender Jevon Dias handle the ball inside the penalty box off Joel Colaco ‘s shot and referee Merwyn Telles awarded the spot kick.
Betalbatim SC were left clueless after the opening goal and SC Davorlim enjoying the lion share of the possession as Betalbatim SC defenders ran a stupendous show to stave the danger imposed by the SC Davorlim lads. 
SC Davorlim had couple of scoring chances but their forwards shot wide from hand shaking distance.
At the other hand, SC Davorlim had couple of scoring opportunities but their strikers were guilty of misfiring from close range.
After the breather SC Davorlim continued to enjoy the better ball possession and troubled the rival defence with well orchestrated raids. 
In the 43rd minute, SC Davorlim found the net from an immaculate game plan by the SC Davorlim team following a good passing bout between Agnelo Colaco and Joel Colaco saw the former found himself in a favourable position and doubled the lead sending SC Davorlim supporters on a delirium. 
Stung by double blows, Betalbatim SC went into attacking mode and fired couple of sorties against the rival goal and their efforts bore the fruit when Kingsley Fernandes shot was handled by Andrew Colaco inside the rival penalty box and the resultant spot kick taken by Princeton Rebello send the rival goalkeeper in wrong way. 
Following the reducer, Betalbatim SC took control of the game and started to dictate the game in the remaining part of the game and had couple of scoring chances but striker Kingsley Fernandes twice came close but his snap shot miss the target narrowly.
Agnelo Colaco of SC Davorlim was adjudged as the man-of-the-match .
