SC Davorlim sneak into semis

CURTORIM: SC Davorlim got the better of Sarzora SC 1-0 to move into the semi- final of the Wilred Leisure Soccer tournament organised by Wilred Leisure Curtorim, on Directorate of Youth and Sports Affairs ground, Curtorim, on Thursday.

CURTORIM: SC Davorlim got the better of Sarzora SC 1-0 to move into the semi- final of the Wilred Leisure Soccer tournament organised by Wilred Leisure Curtorim, on Directorate of Youth and Sports Affairs ground, Curtorim, on Thursday.
SC Davorlim dominated the first half with constant raids on the Sarzora SC defence however the Sarzora side stood strong guarding their citadel from the rivals. 
Paxton Gomes of SC Davorlim had the first shy at the goal however he missed the chance by whiskers as the ball hit the cross piece and went out of play in the 6th minute. 
Perryson Rebello dribbled past a few defenders and rolled the ball to his counterpart Paxton whose move was tackled by Joyron Fernandes defender of Sarzora SC in the tenth minute.
SC Davorlim didn’t give up yet as Agnelo Colaco with his swift movements shot towards the goal however the rival goalkeeper was equal to the task. Later, Babu Naik and Denil Rebello made attempts towards the goal however goalkeeper, David Rebello made brilliant saves between the sticks.
Sarzora SC got a rare chance in the match to push up a counter-attack  through Merilo Ferrao, however  the rival goalkeeper JoelCoalaco made an easy save to keep the striker at bay in the 25th minute. 
Dominating SC Davorlim side finally got the opportunity they were looking for as 
Asikesh Shetty sent in a long ball to Perryson Rebello just outside Sarzora box who headed the ball to Bonny Niasso. Bonny swiftly hit a half volley which hit Babu, defender of Sarzora SC got deflected and speedily sailed into Sarzora SC nets in the 36th minute to open the account for SC Davorlim.
Sarzora SC had their best chance in the match with Denil Rebello rolling the ball to Merilo, however the striker shot wide squandering yet another chance.
SC Davorlim will meet the winners of Wilred Leisure SC, Curtorim and Navelim Villagers Union in the semi-finals on March 2.
