RAIA: SC Davorlim ousts CAC Cansaulim by 3-1 to storm into the final of the 45th Custodio Memorial inter-village football tournament organized by Raia Sporting club, at Raia panchayat ground, on Sunday
Paxton Gomes of SC Davorlim was the hero of the day as he scored the hat-trick which gave their team the victory they needed.
From the referees whistle both teams sprang into action creating excellent moves into the rival defence.
Cansaulim through Agnelo D’Souza should have found the ball at the back of SC Davorlim net in the 8th minute but shot wide.
SC Davorlim took the lead in the 10th minute of play when Agnelo Coalco rolled the ball over to Paxton Gomes who shot straight into Cansaulim nets, 1-0.
Thereafter Cansaulim tried equalising in the 15th minute when Agnelo D’souza’s shot went over the bar.
Minutes later, SC Davorlim again took the lead when Paxton Gomes with his complete momentum got a beautiful pass inside the rival box didn’t waste much time floating the ball in the far corner of the nets for 2-0 lead .
After the lemon break, Paxton Gomes scored his hatrick and 3-0 for SC Davorlim in the 47th minute of a shot of Perryson Rebello rebound which Paxton received and converted.
CAC Cansaulim scored their lone goal through Agnelo D’Souza in the 55th minute.
