SC Davorlim to meet St Anthony SC in final

BENAULIM: SC Davorlim SC defeated Betalbatim SC 1-0 to storm into the final of the 27th Super Soccer inter-village football tournament at St John the Baptist ground, Dando-Benaulim, on Thursday.
Klinsman Pereira of Betalbatim SC rolled a ball to Kingslee Fernandes, who after dribbling Clinton Rebello, defender of SC Davorlim, with his right footer released a strike but it went wide in the 4th minute.
In the 6th minute SC Davorlim through Agnelo Colaco should have found the ball at the back of the rival net but his shot was saved by the Betalbatim SC goalkeeper.
The first corner kick came in favour of SC Davorlim in the 8th minute, which Agnelo Colaco crossed to Milton Rocha who rose high to head in to open the account for SC Davorlim making it 1-0.
After the lemon break Betalbatim SC tried to equalize but SC Davorlim’s defense stood rock solid. Klusner Pereira of Betalbatim SC on the forefront did extremely well by moving from both the flanks. He took a brilliant shot at the rival goal but was deflected through Velington Rocha of SC Davorlim and went out of play in the 40th minute.
Again Klusner Pereira connected a ball to Klinnsman Pereira in the 67th minute shot but to his dismay the rival goalkeeper fisted the ball for a corner kick.
Agnelo Colaco’s long ranger should have earned a dividend for SC Davorlim but his effort flew above the cross bar of Betalbatim SC in the 69th minute.
Klusner Pereira tried a solo effort for Betalbatim SC and took control of the ball from the centre and dribbled a couple of defenders but to his dismay the rival goalkeeper saved it. SC Davorlim will meet St Anthony SC, Assolda in the final on July 10.
