MARGAO: Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim in their letter to Herald stated their club wasn’t allowed to register players without NOC from their parents clubs, however, the rule was bent for certain clubs.
“Other clubs registered a professional player without NOC from their parent Club, who eventually scored two goals and provided an assist against us during the league match which ultimately we lost,” stated Raju Cardozo, SCC Cavelossim Manager in his letter. The club claimed to have protested against the player, however, it was turned down after they failed to meet the deadline.
“Why didn’t the player play for the club if everything was normal” asked Raju, whose team finished second behind Ambelim SC in the Group B and had to battle with SCG in the playoffs which they eventually lost. The club stated that the team suffered due to the blunder made by the organisers and asked how the professional player was registered for the tournament with an NOC from their parent club.
However, when contacted a GFA official stated that, “The competition rules don’t mention the requirement of NOC as there were new registrations for futsal. But for the better interest of the professional contracted players, we have requested the clubs to obtain NOC as a precautionary measure for the better interest of the player,”
