Cavelossim have collected ten points while Curtorim Gymkhana continued their streak at the bottom of the league table with no points.
The winners shot into the lead in the eighth minute when their central defender Rahul Kumar made a good run into the Curtorim Gymkhana citadel and set up Edberg Sequeira, who made no mistake in finding the back of the net.
Had it not been for Curtorim Gymkhana keeper Muhammad Shaikh, the scoreline would have been much more embarrassing for Curtorim Gymkhana. He first came with a timely block to keeper Rahul Kumar’s header at bay and then acrobatically kept away Joel Fernandes’s shot away from goal.
Crossing over, the Curtorim Gymkhana keeper’s antics under the horizontal bar continued as he came with two brilliant saves to keep Mario Mascarenhas and Melwin Fernandes from inflating the lead.
Despite his brilliant performance under the horizontal bar, Cavelossim came with vociferous force and fired in three goals within a span of seven minutes through Melwin Fernandes and Myron Fernandes (2).
When it looked the match would end at that Cavelossim showed they were not done yet another goal in the 89th minute through Rayman Fernandes.
In the next minute itself Curtorim Gymkhana managed to pull one goal back when Imamsad Guledgodda’s 25-yard rasping strike crashed into the Cavelossim nylons, 5-1.
