UTORDA: SCC Loutolim downed Cuncolim Union 4-2 to enter the quarter-finals of 27th Lourdes Football festival tournament, organised by United Club of Utorda in memory of their past president Roque Noronha, at Utorda SAG ground, on Wednesday.
Loutolim forge ahead in the second minute through Daren Gomes as Loutolim were caught napping but Cuncolim regrouped into action and equalised through the boots of Ashwin who dribbled past the defenders to score an equaliser in the sixth minute with a powerful 20 yard shot.
Both teams dished out good soccer skills which delighted the fans.
Daren Gomes scored his second goal in the 34th minute to put Loutolim ahead.
Post-resumption, Cuncolim bounced back into action and in 40th minute, Ashwin Velip scored his second for Cuncolim to level terms.
Loutolim surged ahead in the 58th minute through Joseph Baptista.
Loutolim mounted pressure and were successful in scoring the fourth goal through Brison Fernandes in the 68th minute to secure a quarter-finals berth.
