SANGUEM: SCC Loutolim defeated Cuncolim Union to march into quarter-finals of 19th all-Goa inter-village (Golden Jubilee) football tournament organised by Uguem Rising Club and played at URC ground, Uguem.
The match was evenly poised in the first 15 minutes when suddenly SCC Loutolim increased their tempo and found the match winner in the 25th minute of the game through the boots of their seasoned player Alvito Fernandes.
On changing ends, Cuncolim Union despite being a goal down tried valiantly to equalise but the Loutolim goalkeeper Flazee Moraes was at his best and brought a couple of hard saves for his team.
SCC Loutolim on the other hand tried to increase their lead with some quick game play but could not strike the proper notes at the goal mouth.
Alvito Fernandes was awarded with man-of-the-match award at the hands of ex-football player of URC and retired police officer Jack Paul Colaco.
