SAO JOSE DE AREAL: SCC Loutolim beat Sao Jose de Areal SC 4-3 via the tie-breaker to enter the semi-finals of the Areal Panchayat cup inter village football tournament, organised by Sao Jose de Areal Sports Club, at Padribhat ground, on Monday.
Loutolim goalkeeper Flazer Moraes was the star of the match with a good number of saves. Also Dezi Oliveira the goalkeeper of Areal gave his best for his team.
Myron Silva and Velington Faleiro missed chances to score for Areal in the ninth and 15th minute respectively and for Loutolim while Daren Gomes missed a chance in the 43rd minute.
In the tie-breaker, SCC Loutolim scored through Daren Gomes, Shelford Fernandes, Steve Gomes and Flazer Moraes while Milton Gomendes, Priston Gomendes and Stalen Oliveira found the net for Sao Jose de Areal .
Areal’s Dezi Oliveira received the best player of the match award from former player of Sao Jose de Areal Jerry Fernandes.
