PANJIM: St. Cruz Society of Poitomado registered a hard fought 2-1 win over Sirvodem Sports Club, in the Goa Football Association’s Third Division League match played at Artificial Turf, Fatorda, on Wednesday.
Both the teams tried their level best in the first half however the deadlock could not be broken as the scores were 0-0 at half-time.
Post resumption, St Cruz Society of Poitomado found the breakthrough after a Maven Fernandes scored in the 50th minute before Armando Dias doubled the lead in the 82nd minute.
Sirvodem SC managed to pull back a consolation goal through Serry D’Souza in the 87th minute.
