Sesa FA down Vasco SC

PANJIM: Sesa Football Academy scored a fluent 3-0 win over Vasco Sports Club in the Goa Football Association Goa Professional League at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Sunday.

The Academy Boys didn’t give any chance for Vasco SC throughout the game though they managed to take the lead just before the breather in the injury time. It came from a long throw in the from the left flank where the ball rolled to Ashley who flicked to Omkar Shetgaonkar showed his composure before coolly slotting past Vasco custodian Luis Barreto.

In the second half, Sesa FA once again took total control of the game. However, they could only double the lead in the 82nd minute when Vasco SC were pressing for the equaliser. And the goal came from a counter attack where a defensive lapse from Vasco’s Pidroy Carvalho and Neville Albuquerque saw the ball travel to Sesa FA’s Faheez Mohammed and the last named calmly slotted home to make the issues safe.

However, there was still time for the third as Sesa FA’s Faheez was set through on goal with a brilliant pass from the midfield. However, the striker was clipped inside the area by Vasco keeper Luis Bareto and referee made no hesitation to point towards the spot.

Faheez himself stepped over and coolly converted to complete his brace in the 88th minute.

In another match at Chowgule ground, Guardian Angel Sports Club and Panjim Footballers played out a goalless draw.
