PANJIM: Sesa FA, Salgaocar FC and Dempo SC l recorded wins in their encounters of the Goa Football Association U-16 League First Division on Monday.
While Sesa FA scored a thrilling 3-2 win over Sporting Clube de Goa while Salgaocar FC eased past Churchill Brothers SC 3-0. Dempo SC ran riot over SAI Training centre 9-0.
At Sanquelim, Sesa Football Academy scored in the dying minutes of the game to win a thriller.
Sporting Clube de Goa took the lead in the 14th minute through Francisco Fernandes, who scored a stunner from 25 yards.
Sporting’s Fransisco continued to trouble SFA defense with his runs but SFA defender Thokchom Singh made sure he maintained the defensive line to restrict the striker.
SFA scored right before half time to take the lead after Izaz Khan scored a header from a pinpoint cross at the near post. SFA went in 2-1 up at half-time.
In the 82nd minute after SFA made an error in the midfield from a goal kick, Fransisco was quick to react, and sprinted past SFA center back Aman to score from the right-wing.
SFA registered an amazing comeback in the dying minutes of the game after Aryan Vaigankar scored to give SFA the lead again.
At Artificial turf ground, Fatorda, Salgaocar led 1-0 at break against Churchill with P Gomes netting the first in the 42nd minute.
Salgaocar FC doubled the account in the 63rd minute through Shubham Velip and Jordan Borges scored the third. Churchill Brothers Sandeep Chaudhary was sent off in the second half additional time for rough play.
Meanwhile playing at their fortress, Dempo Sports Club showed no mercy against SAI as they hammered nine goals with Shreyash Naik netting five goals. Arnold Oliveira, Sherwin Rodrigues, Topon Mirj and Asmon Vaz.
Shabaz Khan and Cliford Costa scored a fine brace as Salcete Football Club beat CRC Chinchinim in the GFA U-16 Second Division League.
Daylan Rocha, Jerry Miranda, Mistle Cardozo, Veltio Rocha, Omkar Gaunkar and Jabiullah Bankapur scored the other goals for Salcete.
