PANJIM: Sesa Football Academy scored four goals past Dunes SC to extend the lead at the top of the league table in the ongoing Geno-GFA First Division League played at Sirsaim ground, on Thursday.
The win took Sesa FA to 28 points while Dunes SC remain on 12 points.
Melvin Lobo opened the account for SFA in the 26th minute after a well-planned corner was converted into the back of the net from a power header.
Dominic, SFA central midfielder played a pivotal role in providing two assists to the strikers. The first one came right before the end of half time when he found some space after skipping past two Dunes SC defenders to find Olvin who was onside.
Olvin on his first touch, as calm as he could be at that moment when goalkeeper came charging towards him, placed it into the back of the net.
SFA had a two-goal in advantage at the half time. The second half started off on a good note for Dunes as they invested men forward in the opposition box.
In the 61st minute, SFA coach substituted Viegas as he was on a yellow card and brought on a second striker Kunal from the bench. The message was clear, SFA boys were still hungry for goals and not looking to settle on a two-goal cushion.
It was right after the substitution when magical dancing feet of Dominic found Joston at the edge of the box who placed it cleanly into the top right corner of the net.
Joston scored another goal from his left foot in the 73rd minute after an individual run into the box from the left flank was converted into the back of the net.
Joston was awarded the man of the match trophy by the Technical Director of Sesa Football Academy.
Meanwhile, at Ella ground, Dempo Sports Club scored a convincing 5-0 victory over Cuncolim Union. Dempo Sports Club led by two goals in the first half scored by Darell Mascarenhas and Altroy Rodrigues. In the second half, Rajat Harijan scored a brace and Velroy Carvalho increased the lead for Dempo after scoring from the penalty spot in the second half.
