MAPUSA: Sesa Football Academy outplayed ten-men Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim 8-1 in Goa Football Association’s (GFA) U-20 Taca Goa First Division football league match at Duler Stadium, here, Thursday. The winners led 3-0 at half time.
Olivin Cardoz and Jaison Vaz registered a hat-trick each while Estevan Mendes and Myran Pereira also got on the score sheet for Sesa. Ronald Dias scored the lone goal for Cavelossim who were down to ten-man where the scoreline was 4-1 after center-back Constancio Rodrigues received his second yellow followed by the red card in the second session.
Sesa substitute Latesh Mandrekar thought he had scored the ninth goal in the 86th minute but it was disallowed due to an off-side. Match referee Sunil Nanodkar had initially pointed towards the center spot but then, his assistant Milagres Fernandes threw light on the situation. In the given circumstance, the Cavelossim bench were fumed and argued that the goal should be disallowed. Cavelossim refused to restart the match. It is now left to the official body, GFA to come up with an amicable solution.
