MAPUSA: Sesa Football Academy, Sanquelim came from two goals down to hold St. Christopher’s SC, Thivim to a 2-2 draw, in the GFA’s U-4 league match, at Thivim ground, on Monday.
The Thivim boys playing at their home ground scored twice one goal in each session of play.
It was Nayeen Shaikh who stunned their opponents with an early second minute goal.
On crossing over, St Christopher further increased their lead through a neat finish by Laximan Malvankar in the 48th minute.
After missing number of scoring chances, the Sesa Academy boys scored two late goals through a header from Jeff Dias (67th min) and a strike from outside the penalty box by Joyston Rodrigues (72nd min) with the teams taking a point each from Monday’s match.
Meanwhile, at Quitula ground, the Penha de Franca team failed to turn up for the match with the Quitula SC after waiting patiently saw the coach had a practice session for the players on the ground.
