Churchill, Salgaocar in goalless draw

A spectacular strike from Pratesh Shirodkar enabled Sesa Football Academy to beat Faria Sports Management 2-1 in Kingfisher Pro League at Duler Stadium here on Sunday. The score was 1-1 at the interval.
At Tilak Maidan, Vasco, Churchill Bros and Salgaocar were involved in a goalless draw in another match, adds our Vasco Reporter.
Salgocar had their share of play but some misfiring and fine goalkeeping by the rival goalkeeper kept the scoreboard blank. The Salgaocar goalkeeper too had showed same resilience thwarting Sabino Bryan Rodrigues and Jaison Vales efforts.
Jayganesh Goltekar put Sesa ahead in the 34th minute but Faria equalised three minutes later through Ramnonsanga to set up an explosive second half. Pratesh netted the winner early in the second half.
Sesa dominated the first half, playing enterprising football as their midfield pushed forward with crisp passing to create many goal scoring chances.
In the pouring rain, Sesa played scintillating football. In the 22nd Pratesh Shirodkar hit a fierce drive at Faria goalkeeper Sugitesh Mandraker, who failed to hold onto it. The ball bounced onto the crossbar and the Faria defence cleared it to safety. This attempt gave the first indication on how the ball could swerve in such wet conditions.
In the 34th minute, Sesa right back Shissuram drifted in from the right and floated the ball into the rival’s area. The ball came off the head of a Faria defender and landed in the path of Jayganesh Goltekar who buried the ball into the corner of the net.
Three minutes later, Faria defender Ramnonsanga pulled a goal back with an amazing shot from distance which caught the Sesa goalkeeper Bruno Colaco off guard and sailed in over his head.
Two minutes after the breather Sesa’s Pratesh picked the ball up on the right and with an audacious attempt sunk the ball over the Faria goalkeeper from an unthinkable angle.
Near the end of the match, Inacio Colaco played a superb through pass from midfield to Rakshak Naik, who turned away from his marker on the edge of the box but fired wide.
