PANJIM: Seven boys from Goa have been shortlisted for the possible selection to the India U-17 World Cup team for the FIFA U-17 World Cup to be held in India in 2017.
The selected boys were chosen from the 30 probables shortlisted from Goa by the AIFF Regional Scouts. The boys went through their paces under the U-15 India team Assistant Coach Etibar Dino at the selection trials held this week at the artificial turf ground outside PJN Stadium, Fatorda.
The selected boys include defenders Warren Carl Fernandes and Sashane Kahar; midfielders Malcolm Mervin Gonsalves, Jovin Seby De Melo, David Jason Baptista Cardoso and Larryl Rancio Mascarenhas and striker Vijay Rathod. They will be added to the pool of probable aspirants vying for a much coveted place in the final squad for the FIFA U17 World Cup.
