MAPUSA: Sesa FA held Sporting Clube de Goa to a1-1 draw in the Goa Professional League played at Duler Stadium here on Thursday.
Sesa’s coach Charles Dias made six changes in his starting XI with three players Minesh Kunkolkar, U20 Shridar Naidu and Shajam P making their debuts.
While Sporting coach Savio Vaz made just one change as Kunal Kundaikar returned from injury.
Sporting took an early 7th minute lead where a cross by U20 Rohit Totad from right flank saw a weak shot by Gourav Kankonkar being connected by Marcus Mascarenhas into the goal, 1-0.
Marcus almost netted his brace in 23rd minute when he superbly connected Myron Fernandes cross only to see Sesa keeper Sapam Nongpoknganba Singh dive and collect the ball.
Another well combined move between Marcus to Philip Odogwu who in turn sent a through pass to substitute Sachidanand Satelkar who missed miserably to finish it home. A costly defensive error by Sporting’s defender Alton Vaz in the 87th minute saw Sesa’s Suraj snatch the ball but shot out with only rival keeper to beat.
However Sesa got their equaliser in the 90 minute where a cross by substitute Kunal Salgaonkar inside the goal area saw Myron Fernandes head the ball into his own goal 1-1.
