PANJIM: SFX Boys, Fatorda, defeated Manovikas English Medium School 2-0 in the final of the 27th SFC U-12 seven a side football festival.
In a keenly contested final SFX Boys scored once in each half to subdue a fighting Manovikas EMS team. Jayden Dias opened the scoring for the winners and the very talented Messi Colaco scored in the second half.
In the semi-finals SFX Boys defeated Salgaocar FC B and Manovikas EMS defeated FC Goa B. Twenty four teams participated in the festival which was played on the 16th and 17th November at the practice grounds outside the Nehru Stadium, Fatorda, Margao.
Maurice Afonso former International football player and Dempo and State coach gave away the trophies to the winners and runners-up teams in presence of Salcete Football Club officials.
