SFX Camarxett secure hard-fought win over Rumba United Club

RAIA: SFX Camarxett secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Rumba United Club to enter into the quarter-finals of Batora United 9-a-side football tournament organised by Batora United at St Alex Church ground, Curtorim, on Thursday.

The match started on slow pace due to slippery ground and both teams tried to take control of the game. 

SFX Camarxett scored the first goal through Aston Castanha with a neat placement in the 14th minute of play and in the 26th minute increased the lead through Cashwino with beautifully tapping ball in far corner of the net.

Rumba United Club’s Veron Fernandes failed to score before half time.

SFX Camarxett were leading 2-0 at lemon break.

Changing over, Rumba United Club attack the SFX Camarxett defence from the word go and levelled the score through Ethan Mascarenhas and Veron Fernandes in the 35th and 44th minute, while the all-important goal came from a free-kick that beat the defence and goalkeeper and landed in the net in the 56th minute by Cashwino Fernandes, who completed his brace and knocked out Rumba United Club from the tournament.

Cashwino Fernandes of SFX Camarxett was awarded the man-of-the-match by Caitan Fernandes, general secretary of Batora United.
