PANJIM: Goa’s Sub Junior Girl Boxer Shagun Shinde won a Bronze medal at the just concluded Khelo India Sub Junior N Elite Women Open Championship, at Rothak Haryana.
Shagun beat three tough opponents before losing to Haryana boxer and champion in the 42kg category. There were 3 Sub Junior participants from Goa in the Championship.
Whilst Divya lost in the pre quarters, Chandrika Pujari reached the quarterfinal but having high fever had to give a walk over thus losing a medal.
Both Shagun Shinde and Chandrika Pujari are Sub Junior Nationals runners up, based at SAI Womens Hostel, Peddem, and presently trained by coach Arif.
