Two first half goals form Rupert Nongrum (17′) and Asier Dipanda (42′) were enough to see the struggling side notch up a win in front of their home crowd with Punjab getting a late consolation from Loveday Enyinnaya (90’+)
Thangboi Singto made three changes to the side that was beaten by Aizawl FC with Rupert Nongrum coming into the side alongside Samuel Shadap and Samuel Lalmuanpuia. 
Meanwhile, Surinder Singh made four changes as Punjab were looking for their first three points of the season. 
It was a lively start to the match with Lajong keen to make a good impression in front of their supporters.
