PANJIM: Shradhanand High School won the Canacona Taluka U-16 Dilip Sardesai inter-school cricket tournament organised by Goa Cricket Association at Nirakar Sports Complex Mashem by defeating Tudal High School by 8 wickets in a low scoring match, recently.
Tudal High School won the toss and opted to bat first scoring 63 runs in 14.3 overs losing ten wickets. Shubham Gaonkar 13 runs and Sanjeet Velip 17 runs were the top scorers for Tudal. Nehal Chari of Shradhanand took 6 wickets in 4 overs conceding three runs. Akshay Namshikar took two wickets in 2.3 overs and Purnay Sudhir took 1 wicket.
Shradhanand made short work of the target in nine overs by losing two wickets. Shaunak Painginkar scored 36 runs off 17 balls with six boundaries and a six. Pranav Kamat added 17 runs to reach the target. Prathamesh Chari and Rohit Gaonkar of Tudal High School took 1 wicket each.
