PANJIM: Shivam Badave's hat-trick powered Shree Ameya Vidyaprasarak Mandal Higher Secondary School to a big 9-1 victory over St Andrew Higher Secondary School in a senior boys league match of the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports football tournament here on Friday.

PANJIM: Shivam Badave’s hat-trick powered Shree Ameya Vidyaprasarak Mandal Higher Secondary School to a big 9-1 victory over St Andrew Higher Secondary School in a senior boys league match of the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports football tournament here on Friday.
Badave, who was adjudged player of the match, struck in the 26th, 40th and 46th minutes while Mangesh Sharma (two), Atif Muzawar, Sunil Kumar, Clayton Luis, Joel Barretto were the others to bulge the net at the Father Agnel’s ground, Verna. Velentino Fernandes scored a consolation goal for the losers.
The other league match between VR Das Gauncar Higher Secondary School and Fr Agnel Higher Secondary School at the same venue produced a contrasting result, a goalless draw.
In the junior boys qualifiers, Jorville Dias’ 59th minute strike helped St Joseph’s High School upstage Our Lady of Grace High School at Ganeshpuri Sports Complex, Mapusa. In another well-contested battle, The Perpetual Succour Convent High School lost to OL  Rosary HS, Fatorda 2-3 in a shootout after both teams were locked goalless.
Auxilium High School and Santa Cruz High School had it relatively easy as they registered convincing victories.
St Xavier’s also had it good against Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bambolim in a school girls’ qualifer.
