MAPUSA: Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics, Margao clinched the Inter-collegiate Badminton championship (Men & Women) of Goa University, at Peddem, Mapusa, recently.
In the men’s semi-finals, Shree Damodar College played against PCCE Verna and against GVM’s GGPR College, Farmagudi in the women’s semi-finals.
Shree Damodar College teams won with scores of 3-0 and 2-0 respectively.
The finals against Goa Engineering College, Farmagudi in the Men’s section and VM Salgaonkar College in the women’s section, the Shree Damodar College teams won their matches with scores of 3-2 and 2-1 respectively.
More than 40 teams from various colleges in the State took part in this tournament.
Ajinkya Kudtarkar, College Director of Physical Education and Sports was the Manager and he was assisted by Mano Shelke. Principal Dr. Prita D. Mallya and Vikram Verlekar, Chairman of Vidya Vikas Mandal Sports Council.
