VASCO: Shree Mallikarjun College, Canacona were crowned champions of the 1st All Goa Inter-Collegiate X-Country Championship for Men organised by MES College of Arts and Commerce, Zuarinagar, recently.
Government College Quepem and MES College, Zuarinagar had to settle for second and third place respectively.
The winners were awarded with the cash prizes along with trophies and medals.
Agnelo Dias, College Director of Physical Education and Sports of Fr Agnel College Pilar was the chief guest for the event.
In individual championship, Suraj Bind of MES College came first while his college-mate Ajaykumar Bind bagged the second spot.
Frazer Miranda from Govt College Borda stood third in the competition.
MES College Principal Dr R B Patil in his address emphasised on regular fitness and its importance in one’s life.
The competition was flagged off by Dr Patil. The route for the same was from MES College gate to Mount Litera School to BITS Pilani Corner (6kms).
All together 66 students participated from 11 different colleges in the competition.
