VASCO: Shree Mallikarjun College, Canacona won the first place in the overall team championship in the All-Goa Inter-Collegiate Cross Country Championship, organised by the Department of Physical Education and Sports, at M.E.S College, Zuarinagar, on Friday.
Rosary College, Navelim and Government College, Quepem secured the second and third place respectively.
Teddy Cardozo from Fr Agnel College of Arts and Commerce, Pilar, won the 1st place in the individual championship while Ajaykumar Bind from M.E.S College, Zuarinagar, secured the 2nd place. Salman Khan from Rosary College won the 3rd place.
The winners were awarded with cash prizes, trophies, medals and certificates. The Principal of the college, Dr RB Patil flagged off the race.
The chief guest for the closing ceremony was Director of Physical Education and Sports, Rosary College, Navelim Dr Francis Lobo. Dr Cosma Fernandes gave the vote of thanks.
