The Shubham Naik Trust will be launched by Chief Minister Digambar Kamat in the presence of Sports Minister, Babu Asgaonkar and Congress President, Subash Shirodkar at Shiroda on Sunday at 4.30 p.m.
“It will have a corpus of Rs 1 crore in due course of time, with the money being utilised for organising cricket championships and coaching camps for under-14 and under-17 boys at Nirankhal (Shiroda) and Canacona,” stated Subash Shirodkar at a press briefing in Panjim today.
In all, 50 boys will be selected for the two camps after organising an all-Goa cricket championship with 24 teams in all at Canacona, Margao, Shiroda, Curchorem and Panjim from April 16 to May 16. The selected boys will then undergo coaching with the Trust bearing all expenses,” disclosed Shirodkar.
