PANJIM: Siddeshwar Sports Club ran riot in the Goa Football Association U-14 League match played against Quitula Sports Club beating them 9-0 in a one sided affair at Quitula ground, on Friday.
Manthan Karmakar was the outstanding player on the field as he smashed in double hat-hatrick netting in seven goals. The winners led 6-0 at the break.
Deep Mashelkar and Nitin Kholkar were the other scorers for the winners.
Meanwhile in another match at Anjuna ground, Anjuna Gymkhana defeated Arpora Sporting Club 2-1. Tomiel Pereira gave Anjuna the lead in the 5th minute but Arpora levelled terms in the 12th minute through Parshuram. Anjuna scored once again in the 25th minute through Sahil, which proved to be the match-winner as neither side scored in the second half.
In another match at Morjim ground, Anshul Fernandes scored two second half goals to help Dunes Sports Club regiseter an easy 2-0 win over Eagles Sports Club. There was no score at the break. Eagles Raj Sawant went into referee’s book for reckless tackle on Dunes SC player.
