PANJIM: Sindhudurg DCA outplayed GTCA, Assam in a close match to emerge champions in 2nd all-India Under-15 Exposure Cricket Tournament, organised by Sportsweek Cricket Club in association with Sports Authority of Goa.
GTCA after winning the toss invited SDCA to bat first at Fatorda ground on Saturday. Owais Shah 43*, Parag Dessai 31 helped SDCA to score 193-7 in 45 overs well supported by Nikhil Jadhav 17, Soham Mayekar 18, Nagesh Rege 17 and Sanket Tulaskar 19*. Samim Hazarila (2-27), Zeebran Das (2-34) bowled well for Assam.
Shashank Borah 50* batted splendidly but could not get pass the SDCA total. Zeebran Das 33 and Nitin Jain 28 supported Shashank well. Parag Dessai (3-36) took wickets at the right time to ensure that GTCA batsmen do not get pass the total.
Santosh Jadhav, Owais Shah and Amit Naik took one wicket each.
The following prizes were awarded: Man-of-the-match Parag Dessai (SDCA), Best batsman Zeebran Das (GTCA) and Best bowler Nagesh Rege (SDCA).
Chief guest Vijay Sardessai, MLA of Fatorda gave away the winners in the presence of President of Sportsweek CC Pandurang (Bhai) Naik, Secretary Hemant Angle and past president Bhiku Pai Angle.
