Pilerne keeper Krupesh Bandekar affected a brilliant save in the 17th minute of play when he blocked Sinquerim’s Karan Hoble in a one on one situation.
At the other end Chetan Bandekar charged his way into the Pilerne danger zone and got the better of the SInquerim defenders but surprisingly shot straight at keeper Devraj Tari.
Before going into halftime Sinquerim almost shot into the lead when Pranav Gaonkar sent the ball towards Karan Hoble who hoodwinked keeper Krupesh only to falter when it mattered most.
On resumption of play Sinquerim held major ball possession however Laxman Parab, Pranav Gaonkar and Karan faltered on entering the danger zone.
The much awaited goal finally happened in the 70th minute of play when Prajot Gaonkar ran up the right flank and sent the ball to Pranav Gaonkar who made no mistake to slot the ball home, 1-0.
