PANJIM: Sinquerim SC thrashed United Sports Club Mardol 7-1 in the Second Division League organised by Goa Football Association (GFA), played at Sirsaim ground, on Wednesday.
Chandan Govenkar opened the scoring for the winners in the 10th minute while later Karan Hoble doubled the side’s lead post the half hour mark.
Joel Barretto scored a goal in the 40th minute for tMardol but nothing seemed to stop the Sinquerim side as Laxman Parab made it 3-1 just before half time.
Chandan Govenkar and Karan Hoble went on to complete their braces as both netted in quick goals in the 61st and 70th minute respectively.
Chandan Govenkar went on to complete his hat-trick in the 73rd minute with a neat finish.
Karan Hoble also joined the hat-trick list with a powerful finish into the net in the 77th minute as the Sinquerim side blanked the Mardol side.
In another game held at Agassaim ground, Dunes SC came from behind to beat FC Neura 2-1.
Shekar Deepi gave the Neura side the lead in the 29th minute. The lone goal separated both sides at half time.
The second half was completely dominated by Dunes SC and this was evident as Shachank Ashwekar and Alberto Britto snatched away the game from the Neura side.
