TUEM: Sinquerim SC defeated Rossman Cruz 3-2 to sail into the semi-finals of the FC Tuem Champions Trophy organised by FC Tuem in association with CAM group of companies played at DSYA ground, Tuem, here, on Wednesday.
Rossman Cruz scored the fastest goal of the tournament in the third minute when their star striker Iman Guled scored by placing the ball to the far corner of the goal to give the lead.
After few tussle in the 10th minute, Sinquerim’s Sidhant Palni missed an easy chance to tap the ball into the goal from Chaitan Pirankar’s free-kick.
In the 18th minute, Sinquerim’s Pratik Tirodkar’s shot was timely cleared by Rossman’s Clifton Rebello. In the 25th minute, Rossman’s Iman Guled dribbled past a couple of defenders to score his brace. In the very next minute, Rossman could have increased their tally but their player Romario’s shot hit the goal post.
In the 30th minute, Sinquerim’s Pratik Tirodkar made no mistake to tap the ball into a goal. Yet again, in the 34th minute, Pratik’s header missed a goal by a whisker.
Both the teams went into the lemon break with the score being 2-1 in favour of Rossman Cruz Nagoa SC. Post resumption, the match came into life back only in the 59th minute when Sinquerim’s Prajyot Gaonkar scored a goal with neat placement.
In the 62nd minute, Gopal Gaddi’s long range shot missed the top corner of Rossman’s goal. In the 70th minute, Pratik Tirodkar of Sinquerim scored his brace thus taking the score to 2-3.
In the added time, Rossman went all out and in the 70+2 minute Sheldon Pereira missed a golden opportunity to level the score for Rossman. With this win, Sinquerim will now face Augustias SC in the semi-final on October 21.
