PANJIM: Sinquerim Sports Club edged past Candolim SC 1-0 in the Second Division league game held at Quitula ground, on Monday.
Both teams played out strong and created a host of chances but neither of the two managed to find the opening goal as both teams went into half goalless.
Post resumption, Richard Cardozo of Candolim SC was booked with a yellow for a foul committed. As both teams were going to settle it out and share points, Akxya Vengrulkar netted in the winning goal with a fine finish in the 86th minute for Sinquerim SC.
Elsewhere, in the Third Division League, Rosarians XI Sports Club and Batim Youth Club played out a 2-2 draw, at Agassaim ground, on Monday.
Rohan Adkonkar opened the scoring in the 23rd minute for Rosarians XI Sports Club before Richmond Nunes equalised in the 4th minute for Batim YC.
Post resumption, Rosarians scored through Milroy Gomes in the 55th minute while Ronaldo Borges made it all square in the 68th minute for Batim YC.
