MAPUSA: Sangam Pednekar scored a brace as Siolim Sodiem Sports Welfare and Cultural Association came from behind to overcome Peddem Bomm Sports Club 4-1 in GFA’S 2nd Division at Poriat ground, Calangute, Thursday. The match was tied 1-1 at the interval.
Peddem Bomm took the lead after just three minutes, which put Siolim on the backfoot. In the 41st minute, Sangam Pednekar played in Raghu Shirodkar and he blasted the ball into the back of the net to equalise.
Changing over, Sangam placed in to give Siolim the lead and within 13 minutes he was on the scoresheet again. Seven minutes from time Gopal Shirodkar punted in the fourth for Siolim.
At Sangolda ground, Bardez zone champions Sangolda Lightning moved into the finals of All-Goa GFA 3rd Division final after registering a fluent 3-0 win over Ilhas zone champions Bhagwati Sports Club.
Pundalik opened the scoring in the 54th minute for Sangolda. In the last ten minutes Yogesh Mayekar scored a brace with two goals of sublime brilliance to give Sangolda victory.
