PANJIM: Siridao Boys and Palem-Wadwad played a 4-4 draw in the final to share the Trawler Owners Junior Cup, floodlit football tournament organised by Siridao Boys in coordination with Siridao-Palem Village Panchayat at river plate Siridao Sports Club ground, recently.
At the breather, both the teams were held 1-1.
Palem-Wadwad had the first look at the goal with the efforts of Rupesh. Immediately, dejected Siridao Boys took the game into the rival citadel in search of an equaliser. As the match progressed, Anslem didn’t miss a golden opportunity that came in his way to net the equaliser.
Crossing over, the teams regrouped with renewed ideas to emerge champions. But Palem-Wadwad upped the tempo to net in three quick goals through Siddharth and to complete is hat-trick.
Down with three goals, Siridao Boys did not give up the fight and started mounting pressure on the rivals. Anslem, Rio and Juruel went on a rampage to settle the score to a 4-4 draw.
Anslem and Rio were declared the men-of-the-match while Rupesh bagged the first goal award.
