PANJIM: Assonora United SC and Sirsaim Sports Welfare and Club played out a 1-1 draw in the Goa Football Association Third Division League Bardez Zone match played at Anjuna ground, on Tuesday.
The teams struggled to get into the game as they lost possession way too easily. After a dull first quarter, Assonora United dominated the play as they finally found the much needed momentum; however, they had to wait until 38th minute to take the lead through Atish Gauncar.
The goal awakened the opposition who showed some attacking intent and levelled terms just before the breather through Lester Fernandes, who scored with a fine placement, 1-1.
Changing ends, both teams failed to convert their chances as they ended the match 1-1 draw.
In another match played at Parra ground, Nerul Sports Club scored two late goals to beat PVC Parra at Parra ground.
PVC Parra were superior side in the first half and they took the lead just before the lemon break through Alister Fernandes.
