DRAMAPUR: Sao Jose de Areal Sports Club defeated Cortalim Villagers 1-0 to move into the semi-finals of the Dramapur Summer Cup, organized by Dramapur SC, at Dramapur ground, on Saturday. There was no score at half time.
In the 10th minute, Nevil Soares of SJose deAreal shot got deflected of Rostan Vaz defender of Cortalim villagers and the ball was about to enter into the Cortalim villagers net,but their goalkeeper,Jose Lucas of Cortalim villagers saved it.Clinton Fernandes of Cortalim villagers should have been on the scorers list but his header missed the nets of St.Jose de Areal in the 12th minute of a connect of Hilario. Aggie Antao of St.Jose de Areal collected a ball from Rayman Fernandes in the 16th minute inside the box of Cortalim villagers dribbled Rostan Vaz defender
of Cortalim villagers but to his dismay his powerful grounder hit the rival post and went out of play.
After the lemon break St.Jose de Areal with renewed ideas started tormenting the rival defence and making moves upfront through Raymond Fernandes and Bresel Viegas .A free kick taken by Raymond Fernandes of St.Jose de Areal in the 45th minute which Bresel Viegas collected who was prowling in the rival box and slammed a powerful grounder which crushed into the nylons of Cortalim villagers to score the matcher winner 1-0 for St.Josede Areal.
Clinton Fernandes of Cortalim villagers had a chance to score in the 48th minute but shot wide.
