SIOLIM: Sodiem FC beat St. Anthony’s, Vaddy via the tie-breaker to win the Siolim Panchayat Cup 2022, organised by Country Cousins Events & Entertainment in memory of Eleterio Fernandes, Rudolph Rudy Cardozo & Mary Cardozo.
St Anthony’s Vaddy drew first blood through their striker Nathan. Within minutes, Sodiem FC equalised through Dhalesh who found the back of the net.
Later in the second half, it was St Anthony’s Vaddy that took the lead when Hussain with a cross from Nathan scored the goal with a header.
The match seemed to be turning into Vaddy’s favour when they conceded a free-kick with a minute on the clock and Sodiem FC equalised through Bablu.
The spectators did witness a great and fast paced game of football. The tie-breaker was won by Sodiem FC having netted all five shots to four by St Anthony’s Vaddy.
Brahamanand Sankhwalkar was the chief guest who was felicitated along with Pradeep Chodankar, Savio Madeira in the presence of the parish priest of Siolim, Rev Dr. Fr. Socorro Mendes.
