PANJIM: Sonics Girls got the better of the young Saligao Hoopsters 34-5 on day 2 of the All Star Games 2022 basketball tournament, organised by YMCA Knights, Don Bosco Oratory, Panjim, on Monday.
Fleur Vas top scored with 11 points for the winners while Assuciana Fernandes put up a lone fight for Saligao with 4 points.
In the men’s category, the highly hyped match between Sonics and Assailants was a treat for all basketball aficionados. Assailants narrowly edging out Sonics 80-70.
For Assailants, Moncy Bovas scored 23 points and found great support in Noyal Jose who scored 16 points.
For Sonics, Shaun Aranjo top scored with 24 points. The young Calvin D’Mello was an able supporter, scoring 23 points.
