MARGAO: The 15th South Zone National Softball Championship for men and women will be held from November 16 to 18 on league basis, at Cuncolim school playground.
Speaking at the press conference, organising chairman Dharma Chodankar disclosed, “There will be 14 men and women teams from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Puduchery, Tamil Nadu and host Goa who will participate in the championship with more than 300 participants taking part in the said event.”
Leader of Opposition and MLA of Quepem constituency Chandrakant Kavelkar and Clafasio Dias MLA of Cuncolim constituency were also present along with other organising committee members.
The championship will be inaugurated by Kavlekar and Claffasio Dias will preside over the function.
The valedictory function and prize distribution will be held on November 18 and Manohar Azgaonkar Minister for Sports and Tourism will be the chief guest along with V M Prabhudesai, Executive director of Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) and Director of Sports and Youth Affairs (DSYA) and other dignitaries.
