MARGAO: Sporting Club Davorlim edged past Navelim Villagers Union 8-6 via the tie-breaker to move into the quarter-finals of the late Joao Francisco Pacheco Football tournament, organized by Betalbatim SC, at Betalbatim ground, on Monday.

Navelim could have taken the lead in the very second minute through a solo effort by Agnelo Colaco, who made a daunting run and unleashed a venomous long ranger but the rival goalkeeper fisted the ball to safety.
Two minutes later, Navelim created an opening but Nicky Fernandes shot wide off an assist by Avlon Gomes.
Thereafter, Sporting Club of Davorlim missed another chance as Brian Furtado missed the target off an assist by Royston Miranda.
Finally, Sporting Club Davorlim scored in the 12th minute through Avlon off an assist by Stanley Miranda. Two minutes later, they doubled the advantage as Agnelo finished with a grounder off an assist by Nicky Fernandes.
Subsequently, Alvito Colaco made it 3-0 with a half volley off a cross by Royston Miranda.
Crossing over, Navelim Villagers Union dominated and reduced the margin in the 40th minute through Avlon Gomes’ grounder.
Soon, Navelim made it 3-2 as Avlon nodded in off a cross from Royston Miranda. Alvito Colaco then restored parity with the help of Avlon Gomes.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Sporting Club Davorlim kept their cool and scored through Agnelo Colaco, Stanley Colaco, Nicky Fernandes, Brian Furtado and Royston Miranda while Avlon Gomes, Clive Fernandes and Jaison Pereira scored for Navelim.
