PANJIM: Sporting Club of Davorlim edged past a spirited Sao Jose de Areal Sports Club in the final of the 10th late Pio Jose Goveia Football tournament, organized by Youth Sports Club of Colvale and sponsored by Goveia Brothers, at the church ground, Colvale, recently.
This was Sporting Club Davorlim’s maiden title awarded.
The winners were Rs 1,00,000 while the runners-up settled for Rs 50,000.
Chief guest and MLA of Aldona Constituency, Glen Ticlo gave away the prizes in the presence of guest of honour, Hema Sardesai.
Santan Ferrao compered while Club president Marcel Mendes proposed the vote of thanks.
