PANJIM: Sporting Clube de Goa and Ambelim Sports Club will clash in the finals of the Goa Football Association State Futsal Championship, organised at Chowgule Futsal Arena, on Tuesday.
While Sporting Clube de Goa overpowered SCCCavelossim 8-2, Ambelim made light work of Sirvodem SC with a 4-1 win in the second game. The first semi-finals lived up to the expectations as it was an end to end affair, however, Sporting Clube de Goa were first to take the lead through Marcus Mascarenhas in the 7th minute. Once up by a goal, Sporting Clube de Goa looked more confident and soon buttressed the lead through Clive Miranda, who made a solo run in the box and played one-two with Marcus, before slotting home, 2-0. Sporting Clube led 2-0 at the break.
Crossing over, Llyod Cardozo made it 3-0 before Marcus scored two goals in quick succession to make it 5-0. Klusner Pereira pulled a goal back for Cavelossim side, however, Sporting’s Marcus responded with yet another goal to take the tally to half a dozen. Clive Miranda’s own goal gave hope for Cavelossim to get back into the game. However, Sporting’s Llyod had other plans as he completed his hat-trick netting two goals to make it 8-2.
In the second semi-finals, Ambelim SC reigned supreme with a comfortable win. Ronaldo Pereira scored a brace for the winners while Domnic Soares netted the third before Frendon Pires scored an own goal. Sirvodem reduced the deficit through Romario Da Costa. The finals will be played on September 12 and the winner of the competition will qualify for the National futsal league.
