FATORDA: Sporting Clube de Goa A piped FC Goa by a solitary goal to lift the Late Shri Krishnanath Baburao Naik U-14 Football Festival trophy organised by Salcete Football Club at the practice ground outside the PJN Stadium, Fatorda, on Sunday.
FC Goa missed two best chances through Hrishikrsh Shirodkar and Climax Fernandes in the 8th and 20th minutes.
It was the Flaming Oranje skipper Francisco Fernandes who scored the match-winner in the 27th minute with a placement shot off Alrich Fernandes’ connect.
Vijai Sardessai, Minister for TCP and Agriculture was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the presence of Joaquim Alemao,former minister, Yuri Alemao and other dignitaries.
