PANJIM: Sporting Clube de Goa scored a massive 11-0 win against Goa United Football Club in the Goa Football Association U-16 League match, at Don Bosco ground, Panjim, on Friday.
Whilst the Young Flaming Oranje side put up a collective performance, the match was all about three players –Brenan Rodrigues, Joseph D’Souza and Francisco Fernandes –who all marked their evening scoring a hat-trick each and sharing 10 goals between them.
Sporting Clube opened the floodgates in the first minute itself, as their first attack was converted into a goal by Brenan.
The winners leading 4-0 at the break, after Francisco Fernandes doubled the account in the seventh minute before Joseph D’Souza scored the third in the next minute.
Leadon D’Costa netted the fourth in the 29th minute.
Post resumption, the young Flaming Oranje were all over Goa United as they smashed in seven more goals. Joseph and Francisco scored two more goals, thus completing their hat-tricks, while Brenan also completed his treble before adding his fourth to complete the rout.
